Founded on December 14, 2021, the Common Prosperity Research Institute at Jiangsu University (JSUCPRI) is a university-level institution for academic research affiliated to the School of Marxism.

JSUCPRI serves as a focal point for fellows pursuing research in Marxist theory, philosophy, economics, management, and other disciplines. The institute aims to give full play to JSU’s discipline advantages and be an organizing force for theoretical research for common prosperity and strategy consultancy, to provide high-level decision-making reference for relevant departments, contribute JSU’s efforts to common prosperity research in the new era, and provide intellectual support for the high-quality development of the cause of socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics.

JSUCPRI is to carry out the university’s motto of “Knowledge, Truth, and Virtue” and the spirit of “Improving Oneself, Keeping Integrity, Hard Work, and Seeking Truth” and optimize the research facilities by integrating such scientific research institutions and teams as the School of Marxism, the New Rural Development Research Institute, the Jiangsu Rural Revitalization Research Institute, the School of Management, the School of Finance and Economics, and the School of Law. The institute is conducting in-depth theoretical and practical researches on the thoughts, policies, theories, and realities of common prosperity by giving full play to its national and provincial research programs with General Secretary Xi Jinping's remarks on common prosperity as well as the practical experience of common prosperity, and the relationship between common prosperity and the construction of modern powerful socialist country as its research fields.

JSUCPRI is making efforts to solidly promote its work and yield high-quality results by making full use of the platform provided by the high-quality development of Jiangsu province for regional universities to integrate scientific research resources, carry out scientific research activities and broaden scientific research fields, and the important chance that Jiangsu province strongly supports the construction of new-type think tanks.

In the next 5 years or so, JSUCPRI will make all its efforts to produce a series of influential think tank achievements and brand activities and build the institute into a distinctive, well-known and high-end think tank that can provide intellectual support for boosting high-quality urban-rural integration, high-level regional coordination, and common prosperity from a high starting point in Jiangsu province and even in China.
