On November 5th, Marxism School hosted a hundred series of lectures on the demonstration course of excellent ideological and political theory courses in Jiangsu colleges and universities. The guest speaker was Professor Tang Zhongbao from the Marxism School of Jiangnan University. The theme of the lecture was “Come on, ‘Flower Growers’: Baoge said ‘Four Confidence’ -Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China”. More than 200 undergraduate students and some graduate students and teachers from our school took part in the activity.
Professor Tang Zhongbao combined his own life experience with humorous, simple and understandable language to explain the current news and negative phenomena in the society, he also analyzed why we are not confident enough at present. Starting from the phenomena of mainstream media becoming non-mainstream media being controlled by capital, “heavy play and light industry” and “hollow disease.” Mr. Tang explained the entertainment for every society in the internet era and its impact on the opinions of the country especially in comparison to western democratic systems. The students could truly understand the essence of the country, understand what Marxism and Communism are in order to help everyone to develop self-confidence, theoretical self-confidence, institutional self-confidence and cultural self-confidence in the socialist road with Chinese characteristics.
With allusions, vivid cases and distinct themes opposing historical nihilism and firmly believing in communism. The whole lecture brought a splendid “ideological feast” to teachers and students, which focused on the integration of knowledge and value, and played an exemplary role in ideological and political courses.
